Everyone wants to have more peace and quiet, but no one has the time. What if finding inner peace took as little as three minutes a day?

Take a Breath

At some point, I bet you’ve been told to take a breath before you speak or to count to five (or ten) when you get angry.

Breathing can do more than just help keep anger under control. With a few simple exercises that take only minutes to complete, you can start practicing mindfulness (and start feeling a whole lot better).

The Science of Breath

Just like your heart, you don’t have to think about your lungs for them to work. It’s a process that’s controlled by your autonomic nervous system, or your involuntary nervous system.

However, you can also choose to focus on your breathing and take control of it. Doing so has numerous benefits, including a reduction in stress and an increased feeling of calm.

Using Breath to Increase Mindfulness (And Reduce Stress)

There are dozens of different breathing exercises you can practice, including ones that are timed to videos.
